DCS Events & planned [public facing] support to DCS Partners
With the UK Government recently urging the general public to avoid social contact, amidst ongoing dialogue between ourselves and our partner organisations, including a number of professional bodies [RICS / CIOB et al], a firm and collective decision has been made to postpone all public facing activities until further notice.
Whilst regrettable, given the immense ‘behind the scenes’ effort (which will continue), we have to put the needs and safety of the general public, first – as well as all DCS Members that continue to show unfailing support and interest towards our plans to engage and inspire excellence both in their Surveying careers and the wider built environment professions.
Of immediate importance and recognition is the annual ‘Moving On Up’ event delivered with the London Borough of Brent amidst wider support from the Mayor of London; a statement of which can be read here.
DCS Founder and Chair, Bola Abisogun OBE, had this to say “….With over 100 confirmed attendees, it is of course disappointing that this unique opportunity has had to be postponed. However, we are obligated to follow current UK Government guidance to the extent that we do not expose any individual to an unnecessary risk(s). We look forward to engaging with our delivery partners in the future and respect the collective decision of our principal stakeholders at this delicate and worrying time. Let’s continue to be careful, kind and attentive to the needs of others, showing mutual respect for each other as we attempt to navigate the myriad challenge(s) presented by the Coronavirus pandemic....”
