Justin Carty, Vice-Chairman of DCS achieves ‘global’ industry recognition!!

Our Vice-Chairman, Justin Carty MRICS [soon to be FRICS!] has finally received some well-deserved recognition by the wider professional services industry, for his tireless effort in what has and continues to be a challenging area of progress.

Justin’s commitment to ethnic diversity, which has been unfailingly assembled around his wider support to colleagues and Clients, across all strands of the diversity piece, [and as a diversity champion] in the Real Estate sector, has now been cemented in the history books. Listed as 21st on the 100 Ethnic Minority Executives 2020; the team at Empower who assemble the Role Model list, went on to say this of our Vice Chair:

“Justin is a real estate and funding specialist who has advised on more than £10bn of transactions. He Founded CBRE’s Multi-Cultural Network, is Head of the CBRE Race Taskforce and a member of the CBRE UK Diversity Steering Group. He ensures that D&I is central to CBRE, resulting in initiatives such as unconscious bias training for senior staff, the inclusion of D&I objectives in the appraisal process and a wide variety of D&I events being held. Justin and the MCN’s work has resulted in the collation and analysis of data in relation to BAME staff, CBRE signing the Race in Work Charter and the creation of a Race Taskforce. Justin is also Vice Chairman of DiverseCity Surveyors, which focuses on promoting BAME issues across the property industry. His DCS activity has contributed to mentorship programs and work experience opportunities for minority professionals and teenagers.”

Justin Carty and Bola Abisogun OBE

DCS Founder and Chairman, Bola Abisogun OBE FRICS, had this to say:

“I met Justin in June 2016 at the RICS _ Diversity & Inclusion Conference in London, at the same time that the EY_Building Inclusivity report, that underpinned the Inclusive Employers Quality Mark 'IEQM' was launched, at that time by the longest serving female President, Amanda Clack PPRICS. We caught up briefly, after my Breakout Session where I shared my own journey with the audience. We connected immediately and the rest is history. The fact that both Justin and Amanda are two (2) senior figures, within the same company, the largest real estate and professional services firm in the world, says a lot about what CBRE are doing and continuing to bring to the table. From the first day that I met him, I recognised JC’s potential and I’m so excited for him and the future of his impactful career _ watch this space..!!”

I do hope you will join us all at DCS, in celebrating Justin’s continued effort, work-rate and game-changing success.
