BPIC Awards 2021, land in Canary Wharf !!

They say a picture speaks thousand words; well here at DCS Comms, we totally agree..... take a look for yourself.

Huge thanks to the sponsors, Canary Wharf Group for providing such a great venue _ East Wintergardens, E14

We've no intention of stealing the thunder from an amazing up and coming team led by fellow disruptor and BPIC Founder, Amos Simbo; we think these pictures taken by our own Founder & Chairman Bola Abisogun OBE - pretty much show the consolidated effort of support that DiverseCity Surveyors, 'DCS' were keen to make, prior to and on the night.

Overarchingly, the point here is the firm desire [by Bola] to send a firm message to the #construction industry and wider built environment .......... but please take a moment to observe, reflect and enjoy just some of the photos now added to the thousands already circulating during the last 96 hours....

The great and good were present including Chairman of the Construction Industry Council; Justin Sullivan FRICS of Consultant Adair

A truly splendid entertainment space ............. so much bling and an even greater host, Kubi Springer, Founder of She Build Brands

Good times were had by all, both new and old alliances, including the esteemed presence of the 'Fit-Out Man', Leon Josephs .....!!

Opening speeches were delivered by Amos and event sponsor, Mr Alec Vallintine, MD of Canary Wharf Group

Great 3 - course meal, washed down with plenty of wine for those that let their hair down in advance of hitting the dance floor.

And the award for Best Minority Owned Business went to MDC Group, led by Daniel Taylor, MD; a worthy recipient and longstanding performer in the retail and commercial fit-out space.

Nextgen #Surveying and #Design talent were also present and in the 'BPIC house' .. Yemi Aladerun RIBA, Ayo Ajayi MRICS and Nii Klotey Quaye MRICS; all actively connecting the dots with peers and potential connects......

And what a performance by Grammy Award winning Rachel Kerr who delivered a truly befitting performance, likely to be heard across the entire Canary Wharf estate ........ a truly powerful, live performance.

So many successful Black women made their voices heard and talents known .... so watch this space. The Rising Star Award was conveyed by none other than G15 Chair, Geeta Nanda OBE [CEO, of MTVH].

So many powerful Black Women, in the form of Roni Savage of Jomass Associates, Carol Massay, Head of Construction, Access Group and, of course the legend in the form of Dr Teri Okoro MBA FRIBA FAPM of TOCA.

Up and coming industry disruptor Mac Alonge, CEO of The Equal Group, delivering the GLA funded Design Labs Initiative and working closely with Bola was also present [and keen to put a face to the name, in the flesh!] after almost a year of Teams and Zoom conversations.

And so, when 2300 arrived all had to disperse .......... including the tag team of Father and Son from the Simbo Family ...... but what a night and what a sterling achievement by all; well done Rumbi Nambureti...!

In the words of BPIC, we are #StrongerTogether; [God willing] roll on 2022 ......
