BSA 2022 [Analysis] _ “industry yet to grasp scale of task ahead!”
"From 15.06.23 there can be no feasible or valid 'excuse' for failure to 'evidence' how assets are being managed, whilst keeping residents safe from the spread of fire and/or structural collapse"

For all of the to'ing and throwing, patent gesticulation and outright procrastination, the UK construction sector has entered a new dawn towards the design and construction process, with a renewed focus on Building Safety.
However, the real question is, “are we ready for this journey of ‘systemic’ cultural change and data-driven, agile working practices?”

I also want to take this opportunity to thank Property Week [in particular Melanie Flaherty] and Adam Branson for reaching out to me and having an 'open and honest' conversation about my current stance given my well documented body of work. Huge thanks also to Liz Male MBE for the referral, a true ally in my quest for a more inclusive, representative and now disruptive sector. My current direction of travel, working with key industry allies and partners in the form of BIM Academy [Strategic Advisory & Consultancy] and TwinnedIt [Digital Platform Solutions] has led me to the successive formation of a new Community Interest Company ‘CIC’, called the Digital Twin Skills Academy ‘DTSA’.
Commonly referred to as the DTSA, we are a ‘not-for-profit’, purpose led professional development and project delivery vehicle that – through the lens of social value – will unlock the technology and digital transformation challenge, which we see as the ‘silver bullet’ for both clients and supply chains alike. Digital Twins are key to data-based business models with completely new value propositions and have an intrinsic role to play in Building Safety compliance and wider Net Zero ambitions. Value will extend not only to the built asset itself, but through to and over the entirety of EVERY purchase order’s workflow, associated with that asset.

Last week [14.06.23] marked the 6th year anniversary and I wrote a piece [link below] to honour the 72months and 72 lives that pretty much hit most headlines – but no way near with the volume of notoriety and attention that it so rightly deserved.
DiverseCity Surveyors acknowledge Grenfell’s 6th year anniversary _ 15.06.23
For me [and us at DiverseCity Surveyors] we wanted to identify with the families that continue to ask questions and on the other hand, sit with those in the industry that demand change via new business models. Ones that speak to the public interest and both command [and exhibit] more transparency and accountability of the construction process.
